Book Clubs

Prep B have learned to analyse and critique books this term.
This week we formed our book clubs and took turns to review books. Students had to read, review and make recommendations about books read.
Students have worked independently and have enjoyed the process involved.

Today I saw Hazel Edwards and she called me up because there was a Jack in one of her books. I had to act like a lion. I felt happy and I liked reading the book.

Hazel Edwards told us about how she started to write her books like, There's a Hippopotamus On Our Roof Eating Cake.
This is me signing our school book.
Hazel wrote, 'For Cooper and all the Students' and then she signed it with her name.

Hazel Edwards Visited E.P.S

Today I saw Hazel Edwards. I read a book with my eyes closed because if you were blind, you can still be able to read the book.
Hazel showed me a Hippopotamus book with bumps on it. She said that people that are blind can read her books too.

 RACV Incursion

Today I learned about road safety. I found out how to wear a helmet properly. We saw a movie about a girl and her dad who didn't cross the road safely. We practised walking over a road. We had to look to both sides and Stop Look Listen Think before we crossed the road. I felt happy especially when I read the clues to the class.                              By Hannah

   RACV Incursion
Today I went to the gym. I saw Liz from RACV. She talked about safely crossing the roads. I stood up to put on a helmet. We looked to see if it was on right or not. I learned to look for cars when I cross the road. It was really fun learning about being safe on the road.

Kikki and Mum's blogging adventure

My name is Kikki and I am in Prep B.

My teachers name is Zakiya. Zakiya is very nice and she asks a lot of questions.

I am blogging with my mum.

My mum is typing everything I say. Blogging is a way to create a big photo album. My favourite part is choosing the photo and putting it on this page. I was the first person to blog on the Prep B Blog and that made me feel shy and happy. I have learned that blogging is about writing a story. Different people can read it every time they want to look. I love blogging with my Mum. This is the picture I chose.  I hope you enjoy reading it. This is what I look like

My favourite class is also art. Espeically paper mache.

Jack and my Mums Blog

Bats and Sharks and Dinosaurs. Bats are more powerful than toads. Dinosaurs are the biggest reptile. The great white shark can jump out off the water like a missle. The biggest bat in the world is the grey headed flying fox.

Mummy and Jack were blogging today. Blogging is writing.

This is a picture of us.

I'm excited that mummys here today. It is because you get to do special stuff with me today.  My favourite thing for today is classroom library. We get new interest books.  Jack interest book is car sized craps and other animals. My mum thinks this sounds like a a really funny book.

We made some of our Focus Words

Using magnetic letters

And the iPads

Patterns

Here we created repeating patterns.

Shapes

We sorted shapes based on the amount of sides and corners.
We had a go at naming the shape hidden beneath the cloth by feeling and counting the sides and corners.

We went on a Shape Hunt in our playground and found:

 Circles

Triangles

Squares

Rectangles
